In celebration of National Women’s Month, the local government of Pasay, led by Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano and Congressman Tony Calixto, launched a program called “Juana Ride”. The initiative provides free rides for women within the city from March 6 to 31, 2023. The program aims to promote gender equality and women empowerment by easing the transportation burden of women, especially those who work or run errands during the day.

The “Juana Ride” program offers free rides for women on weekdays, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, and from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The rides start at the Pasay City Hall and will drop off passengers at designated locations such as Malibay cor. C. Jose EDSA, Dominga St., Leveriza St., F.B. Harrison St. up to Vito Cruz St. and MOA, Libertad St. up to M. Dela Cruz St., and Protacio St. up to Cabrera St. The free rides are open to all women, regardless of age or occupation.

According to Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano, the “Juana Ride” program is the city’s way of supporting and empowering women. She hopes that the initiative will encourage more women to take part in the city’s activities and pursue their goals. The program also aims to provide a safe and convenient means of transportation for women, especially during the pandemic.
