NAIA T3 exit door jams, traps passengers
An exit door at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 malfunctioned Friday afternoon, forcing passengers to wait for nearly an hour to get from the plane to the arrival concourse.
The Manila International Airport Authority said the exit door at NAIA Terminal 3 Gate 108 failed to open, affecting passengers of a Cebu Pacific flight from Bangkok, Thailand.
“It took 41 minutes, from the time the plane was on blocks. The door was forced open,” Cebu Pacific spokesperson Charo Lagamon said.
Shortly before 6 p.m., the MIAA issued an apology to the affected passengers.
The MIAA said it was an isolated case, as all exit doors were checked and tested daily.
Prior to the incident, eight flights used Gate 108 without any issues, the MIAA said.
