Pasay cooperatives receive 20 sewing machines

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano donated 20 sewing machines during the Pasay City Cooperative Gender and Development (GAD) Summit, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

Rubiano said the summit was conducted in celebration of the “National Cooperative Month” held at the Joe Rizal Elementary School on Oct. 22.

Aside from the sewing machines donated by Rubiano, the participants were also given free flu and pneumonia vaccines, “Take Care, I Care” health cards, and reservations for free reading glasses.

The mayor said the health cards are being given to Pasay residents for hospitalization and other medical and health benefits.

She also recognized the role of the city’s cooperatives in the gradual economic recovery.

Rubiano together with other key officers from the office of Congressman Antonino Calixto, City Cooperative head Rowena Buenaventura, and Cooperative Development specialist Sufriano Aquino attended the summit.
