Pasay launches ‘Libreng Sakay’
The Pasay City government launched its “Libreng Sakay” program that will ferry commuters in the city for free from Dec. 1 to 30 as part of the city’s celebration of its 159th Pasay Day, according to report by Manila Bulletin.
Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano led the launching of five E-jeepneys and five E-trikes during the regular Monday flag-raising ceremony held at the Pasay City Hall grounds on Monday, Nov. 28.
Rubiano said the “Libreng Sakay” project of the city government will be from Monday to Friday at 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
She said the five E-jeepneys can accommodate 10 passengers.
The routes of the “Libreng Sakay” will be from Pasay City Hall to SM Mall of Asia, MRT Taft Station, and LRT Libertad Station.
The mayor said the “Libreng Sakay” will also be offering specials routes on Dec. 1 during the conduct of a job fair from 9:00 a.m. and Christmas lighting at 6:00 p.m.
Rubiano said the other special routes to be offered by the “Libreng Sakay” will be on Dec. 6 for the holding of PRAISE and EMI Award that will give recognition to city employees who have rendered “Tapat na Paglilingkod,” and on Dec. 15 for the Pamilyang Paskuhan at 9:00 a.m.
She also thanked those who joined the “Padyak Pasay:Moving Forward as One Eco City” held on Saturday, Nov. 26 at Central Park, SM By the Bay.
The mayor said the city government offered Bike Fun Ride, Bicycle Clinic for Kids, and Padyakabuhayan during the “Padyak Pasay” activity.
Rubiano said representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Transportation (DOTR), and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) joined the activity.
She said the “Padyak Pasay: Moving Forward as One Eco City” kicked off the celebration of the 159th Pasay Day on Dec. 2.
