Debuting Pasay Voyagers coach Keith Martin on Monday got his first career win in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League courtesy of a 70-68 win versus the Navotas Uni-Pak Sardines.

Ron Lastimosa led the way for the Voyagers with 14 points, including a crucial three-point shot with 1:!4 left in the match.

With the score at 69-67 in favor of Pasay, Navotas got several opportunities to take the lead. Unfortunately, Navotas’ Ryan Buenafe missed a three-point shot and Pasay’s Jan Jamon capitalized by sinking one of his two free throws, sealing a three-point lead for his team.

The game ended with Navotas missing one more three-point shot and three of four shots from the charity line.

“I am thankful because Pasay has given me this opportunity. It’s a challenge for me and I’m really excited with how I will apply my system. I’m very happy because the team is very supportive,” Martin said.

Two other Pasay players closed the game with 14 points each – Dhon Reverente and Jamon.
