Pasay and Makati Collaborate for Tripa de Gallina Beautification
In a momentous joint effort to enhance the environmental landscape, the cities of Pasay and Makati embarked on a collaborative venture, solidified by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on October 17, 2023. Spearheaded by Pasay City's Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano and Makati's Vice Mayor Monique Lagdameo, the agreement marks a crucial milestone in their shared commitment to sustainable development and ecological preservation.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the initiative, Mayor Emi articulated the significance of the Tripa De Gallina creek as an integral part of the urban ecosystem. The venture, a pivotal facet of the Metro Manila Development Authority's (MMDA) Urban Renewal and ReGreening Program, aligns seamlessly with Pasay City's comprehensive strategy for sustainable development, reflective of their dedication to smart sustainability practices.
Central to the collaboration are effective waste management strategies and the implementation of sustainable practices, which have been underscored as critical aspects of the initiative. With the presence of key stakeholders including MMDA Acting Chairman Atty. Romando Artes, World Bank's Senior Water Specialist George Comair, and Barangay San Isidro Chairman Rolando Alvarez Jr., the shared vision of ecological preservation and environmental sustainability is poised to redefine the landscape of Tripa de Gallina for generations to come.
