Pasay launches 'Brigada Eskwela' for collaborative school readiness
Pasay City kicked off the school season with the launch of "Brigada Eskwela" at Pasay City East High School on August 15, 2023. The event brought together representatives from the Pasay City government, teachers, and staff to clean and prepare the school for the upcoming academic year of 2023-2024.
Councilor Mark Calixto delivered a message on behalf of Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano, expressing the city's commitment to a collective vision of bettering the lives of every young Pasayeño. The event highlighted the city's dedication to collaboration and unity for the benefit of its students.
The initiative saw participants engaging in various tasks, including planting fruit-bearing plants, welding, painting chairs, and launching a sewage treatment plant. The collaborative efforts aimed to ensure that Pasay City East High School is ready and conducive for learning when classes begin.
Prominent figures present at the event included Councilor Joey Calixto Isidro, Councilor Allo Arceo, Councilor Julie Gonzales, Councilor Dona Vendivel, and Councilor Allan Panaligan. They were joined by officials from the Schools Division of Pasay City, including Supt. Joel Torrecampo, Asst. Supt. Arturo Tolentino, principals of elementary, secondary, and special schools, education program supervisors, and public schools district supervisors.
The "Brigada Eskwela" initiative not only signifies the city's preparation for the upcoming school year but also showcases the collaborative efforts of Pasay City's leaders, educators, and community members to ensure a conducive learning environment for its students.
